Lydia B. Eshback, 97, died May 16, 2011 in Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ. Lydia lived in Hackettstown, NJ for 65 years coming from Brooklyn, NY and was born in Russia on March 8, 1914.

Wife of the late Ralph Walter Eshback and the late Henry Schwanda. Daughter of the late John Paul and Xenia (Maciejow) Gulevich. Survived by 3 Sons, Keith John and his wife Kelly Eshback, Wilton, NH; Peter and his wife Karen Eshback, Germanton, NC; Henry and his wife Victoria Schwanda, Port Mansfield, TX; 1 Sister, Naida Piccolo, Little Egg Harbor, NJ; 5 Grandchildren, Tanya and Sonya Schwanda, Elizabeth, Sarah, Molly Mae Eshback.

Lydia was a Teacher at Centenary College, Hackettstown, NJ. Lydia was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Hackettstown, NJ; received her BS in Education from Brooklyn College, attended Pratt Institute and Montclair State College, received her Masters Degree from Newark State College and holds a PhD in Special Education from Columbia University; she was a member of the Republican Club and the Hackettstown Historical Society, both of Hackettstown, NJ; member of the Family Planning of Belvidere, NJ; member of the National Education Association; she enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.

Visitation Thursday, May 19, 2011, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Services during the visitation at 7:30 PM- at Cochran Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hackettstown Historical Society. Interment: Hackettstown Union Cemetery where a graveside service will take place at 12 noon on Friday, May 20, 2011.
