April 28, 1934 - June 9, 2025
Sacramento, California - Passed away peacefully at age 91. Beloved husband of 53 years to the late Carole Lai. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Carolyn, Joanne, Eleanor & first wife Shirley. Survived by sisters Evelyn & Lorraine (Ron), & brother Alex. Deeply missed by children Bryan (Pie) & Candace. Forever cherished by grandchildren Justin & Elijah & many nieces & nephews. Enjoyed tennis, trapshooting, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, dancing, traveling, & mah jong. Funeral on June 26, 11 a.m. at East Lawn, 4300 Folsom Blvd. Donations may be made in Lyle's memory to Sacramento SPCA.

I first met Uncle Lyle in 1966 when my family stayed with Aunt Jane and Uncle Bing for a week or so. Uncle Lyle was a widower at the time and was kind enough to take us out on Folsom Lake for a quick swim, and we had a blast in that icy water which was foreign to us Hawaii natives. We were happy to hear he remarried and has a lovely family with children and grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was a very kind "uncle" and will be missed dearly.

I remember Lyle is a bright light in our mahjong class at Belle Cooledge Community Center. He will be sorely missed.
