Lynda Vincent Obituary
August 31, 1948 - March 17, 2025
Sacramento, California - Lynda Vincent, 76, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, in Sacramento, California. Born on August 31, 1948, in Massachusetts to John and Doris Vincent, Lynda spent much of her life in Sacramento, where she was raised and later returned after years away.
A graduate of El Camino High School, Lynda went on to earn a master's degree in social work from California State University, Sacramento becoming one of the first in her family to achieve this milestone. Her professional journey led her to Boston for many years, where she developed her career and began a family. Upon returning to Sacramento, Lynda dedicated her final working years to supporting students with disabilities in the Sacramento Unified School District.
Lynda is survived by her son, Brandon Kahleal White, and siblings Cathy Lang, Linda Crain, Sheila Grovhoug, Dana Vincent, and Tim Vincent. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law with whom she shared close bonds. Lynda was preceded in death by siblings Carolyn Gonsalves-Pope and John M. Vincent.
Throughout her life, Lynda remained deeply committed to family and community. She supported causes aiding women affected by domestic violence and contributed to organizations providing food, clothing, and shelter to those in need. Her love for music, the arts, social connection, and her Cape Verdean heritage enriched her life and the lives of those around her.
A memorial service will be held at St. Ignatius Church in Sacramento to honor Lynda's life.
Lynda will be remembered for her sense of humor, compassion, honesty, and generous spirit. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
