M. BLISS Obituary


BLISS Jr., M. Sherman
Passed away at Sacramento's Kindred Hospital with family at his side on October 29, 2012, at age of 81. Born on February 12, 1931 in Portland, OR to M. Sherman Bliss and Dorothy E. Watt Bliss.
Attended San Juan H.S. in Sacramento and Willamette University in Salem, OR where he was member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, eventually becoming Fraternity president; Student Body President and Balfour Award recipient. Later spent 30 years with Naval Investigative Service, retiring with many distinctions and honors as Deputy Director.
Sherman is survived by his wife Molly, sons John and Michael, John's wife Michele; and his sister Michelle Masera and her husband Steve. Three grandchildren, Maile, Mason and Dylan, and nieces and nephews Mark Bliss, Heidi Lambert, and Meghan and Matthew Masera, further survive Sherman. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roland Boyd Bliss. He made many friends participating in his favorite sports, golf and tennis.
The family requests a memorial donation in lieu of flowers be made to The American Heart Association. Interment and Memorial will be held November 26, 2:30 p.m., at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego.
