Mae Chan
April 8, 1917 - July 31, 2021
Sacramento, California - Born April 8th, 1917 in San Francisco, CA and the eldest of four children. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on July 31st, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Yoke and Go See Hing Jang, husband Edward, brother Jack Jang and sisters Mildred Chan (Ernest) and Catherine Chan (Joe). Survived by daughter Victoria, numerous cousins, grand nieces, grand nephews and extended family.
She grew up in San Francisco and Watsonville before settling in Sacramento. She studied business in college and was actively involved in buying and selling stocks. She was also an entrepreneur and opened Chopsticks Express in Greenhaven with her two sisters. Mae enjoyed traveling around the world and playing mahjong every moment she could.
We want to thank those involved in her care, especially Dignity Health Hospice and caregivers Rosie, Becky and Tina.
A private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Asian Community Center 7334 Park City Drive, Sacramento, CA, 95831.
