Margaret Luella Evans Martin

1927 - 2017

August 30, 1927 to August 19, 2017 Margaret "Lu"ella Evans Martin passed away peacefully in her home in Granite Bay, California on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Margaret was born on August 30, 1927 in the Welsh community of Judson, Minnesota to Gomer Franklin Evans and Margaret Jane (Jones) Evans with siblings Rachel, May, Edgar, and Hayden, and her cherished, lifelong friend and cousin, Anna Grace (Jones) Rawson. She grew up on a farm with no running water or electricity, until she moved into Lake Crystal with her cousin, Anna Grace to attend high school. She loved playing baseball and had many boyfriends. She attended nursing school and became a R.N., working in a hospital or private practice from 1948 until 1992. She also was Deacon at her church, mended clothes for anyone in need, knitted and crocheted, gardened, and would visit the elderly. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings; husband, Dr. Clarence L. Martin; son, Drake Evans; and daughter, Dawn Elizabeth. Margaret is survived by her children: Dwight Fairchild, Dianne Grace (Richard), Douglas Lloyd (Stacey), and Dana Margaret (Jim); 15 grandchildren, with significant others; and 31 great-grandchildren; as well as, beloved cousin, Anna Grace (Jones) Rawson and special friend, Howard Simmermacher. However, her greatest love of all was her Savior, Jesus Christ, who she will rest with for eternity. A Memorial Service will be held at Centerpoint Community Church, Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.
