Margie Salgado

1939 - 2025

Margie Negrete Salgado, born December 15, 1939, passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 85. Loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughter, Lenna (Jim) Ledesma and three grandchildren, Jimmy, Thomas and Amanda, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Manual Salgado; her parents, Julian and Frances Negrete; sisters, Trina, Louisa, Jessie, Nellie; and brothers, Thomas and Juan. She was known as Margo throughout her State career. She worked over 40 years with the State of California, before retiring from the State Controller's Office. Margie was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Parish and belonged to the Young at Heart Club there. She was also a member of La Edad de Oro, La Sucursal Mexicana #22 and The Happy Club. She enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, and walking her dog. Although, her biggest joy was spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. Margie will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends she made throughout her lifetime. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary Cemetery & Funeral Center, 6509 Fruitridge Road, on Thursday, November 13, 2025. The rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. with the mass following at 10:00 a.m.
