Mary Jean Crosby

1927 - 2017

Mary Jean Crosby passed away peacefully on August 28, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born in Seattle Washington on June 7, 1927 to Jerry and Annette Clark. She met and married the love of her life Brent Crosby while attending Seattle University. Jeanne spent many happy years raising their daughters Lynn Stokes (Wayne) and Leslie Weisgerber (Bill) as Brent's career took his family from Washington to Oregon to California. They moved to Sacramento in 1963 and she devoted her life as a loving homemaker for her family. In 1968 Brent and Jeanne moved to the bay area and they spent the next 36 years in Walnut Creek. During that time, Jeanne and Brent travelled worldwide with his job and enjoyed the company of many lifelong friends. She volunteered at the Holy Redeemer Center in the Oakland hills and also was on the Board of Directors. After Brent's death in 2003, Jeanne moved back to Sacramento to be closer to her daughters and her 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She settled in the Heritage Park community where she loved her home and beautiful garden. In 2014, after a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, Jeanne entered a care facility and at the time of her death she was living at Atria El Camino Gardens where she received skillful and compassionate care. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Sept. 29th at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael, CA. A reception will immediately follow.
