Mary- Ann Orr

November 15, 1931 - July 14, 2024

Sacramento , California - ORR, Mary-Ann (Susko)

Born in San Francisco on November 15, 1931; Mary-Ann (Annie) peacefully passed away on July 14, 2024. She was a devoted wife of 50 years to her husband Bob (deceased). She was the best mother to her surviving children Robert M. Orr, Carolyn, A. Orr, Diane E. Orr, and James A. Orr, and her step-daughter Christine Turrentine (Ed). She was a doting grandmother to R.C., John, Michael (Aaricka), Amanda P. (Richard), Eric, and Holly (Matt), and great-grandmother to Andrea, Khloi, and Amanda S. She joins her father, mother, and two younger brothers, all previously deceased, in heaven. Mary-Ann was a homemaker who was always there for her children. She rarely missed a game or a dance recital where her children or grandchildren were performing. She kept active by playing the organ at St. John the Evangelist Church, with a membership in the Carmichael Cactus Club, and with a membership in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul where she was Secretary and a Vincentian, visiting and helping people in need. She loved to travel, especially to Scotland with Bob. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday July 24, 2024, at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 5751 Locust Avenue, Carmichael. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, or the SPCA.

Mary-Ann was a very special friend of 40+ years. Her passing bothers me a lot. She swore she was going to live to 100. Our connection was science fiction books. She helped out at my store & I was always pleased when she came to visit. I have never met a better person, ever! Love You Mary-Ann, the world was better because of you. Mike Garrels

"Mrs Cookie" was a most wonderful lady qho along with the whole Orr Family accepted and embraced me into their lives as a teenager/young adult moving to Sacramento after graduating high school. Always a warm and gracious lady my heart goes out to all family and friends. RIP

I saw Mary Ann and her husband Bob each year when we participated in the Susko Memorial Golf Tournament. They were very generous and couldn“t have been nicer. Mary Ann was a classy lady and always put up with all of us so called golfers!

Mary Ann was my accompanist during the 6 years I was choral music teacher, 1974-1980, at Barrett Intermediate. She worked tirelessly as a volunteer and always with a smile. My sincere condolences to her children and grandchildren.
