Max Salinas Obituary

Max (Maximiano) Salinas
April 21, 1938 - May 1, 2023
Merced, California - It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Max (Maximiano) Salinas, age 85, passed away in Merced, California. He was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico, but lived most of his life in California. After graduating from high school in Woodland, California, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He remained a very proud veteran for the remainder of his life. Max continued his education by taking college courses and then went on to work at the United States Postal Service in Sacramento. He retired from there after a long career.
Max was known to all as an extremely hard working man who was always willing to help others. He loved to share stories with everyone and always made people laugh with his jokes and quick wit. Max will be remembered as a loving and caring family man as well as a devout Catholic. We will deeply miss you, dearest Max. SEMPER FI forever!
Max is survived by his loving wife, Jennie Salinas, stepson Daniel Urteaga and daughter-in-law Ramona Urteaga; grandchildren Laura, Daniel Jr., Dominic, and Dean. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, daughter Sonja Salinas, and siblings Teresa and Juan. He is survived by children Marina Byrne, Maximiano Salinas Jr., and Kristina Salinas; grandchildren Marya, Alexander, and Teresa.
