Sacramento, California - Maxine Bonnieville Mackey of Sacramento, California, passed away on April 18, 2024, at the age of 94 with her daughter and great-grandson by her side. Maxine was born in Auburn, Washington, to parents John and Emma Slack. Maxine, or as some know her, Max, was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She was a strong, faithful woman. Maxine was an active member at her church for over fifty years and impacted the lives of many in her community.
A testament to her character is the love and loyalty her friends and family have for her. From the bountiful family meals to the wonderous travels and countless card games, Maxine's kindness and delightful demeanor will be forever cherished.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Fred William Mackey, her parents, her two brothers Ray and Duane Slack, two sons Rodney Duane Mackey and John William Mackey, and her son-in-law Michael O'Donnell. She is survived by her daughter Marcie O'Donnell, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on June 8th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1615 Morse Ave., Sacramento, CA, 95864.
