Michael Fitzpatrick

FitzPatrick, Michael Mike was born in Cavan, Ireland on April 30, 1929 to the late Peter and Ellen FitzPatrick. He moved to the U.S in 1950 at the age of 20 with 13 cents in his pocket to begin his new life in San Francisco with his aunt and uncle, Mary and Terry FitzPatrick and their family. He worked as carpenter for many years before joining Lockheed Corporation in Sunnyvale, California, where he was a maintenance supervisor for 30 years. Mike was a cherished husband of 60 years to his wife, Marian FitzPatrick (Creed), and loving father to Terry (Christi), Sheila, and Kevin (Maria) and the late Peter Michael FitzPatrick. He was a fun and devoted grandfather to Katie (Adam), Sean, Branden, and Brian FitzPatrick, and Shannon (Darren) Sutherlin, and great grandfather of 6. Mike is survived by his sisters-in-law, Joan, Lee and Theresa Fitzpatrick and Kathy Creed, his brothers-in-law, Dan and Mike Creed, and numerous nieces and nephews in the Creed, FitzPatrick, Gage, Towey and Walker families. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary, Rose, Margaret, Evelyn, Bess, and Peggy, his brothers, Hugh, Eddie, Tommy, Pat, Bud, John and Bart, and his sisters-in-law, Helen FitzPatrick and Kathleen Walker. Mike loved his family, the San Francisco 49ers and Giants, golf and his vodka gimlets. He had a quick Irish wit, a twinkle in his eyes, and a wicked sense of humor, always ready with a joke whether deemed appropriate or not. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass at 11:00am Friday, April 24, 2015 at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, 26750 Tiger Creek Road, Pioneer, CA. Interment will immediately following mass at Amador Memorial Cemetery. Donations in Mike's name can be made to the UCSF Kidney Transplant Center, 400 Parnassus Ave, San Francisco, CA 94143.
