Michael Rein Obituary

REIN, Michael Robert
Passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009, at his home after a long and hard fight with lung cancer. As he came to his peaceful ending, Mike was surrounded by his loving family. When the end finally came he was escorted to the mortuary by his son and wife on his prized Harley Davidson. Mike was born on August 4, 1946 in Carmel, California and raised in Sacramento. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 17 years and McClellan AFB for 13 years. When McClellan AFB closed he was transferred and based at Hill AFB in Utah for 10 years. He was an incredibly hard worker and loved his job where he traveled the world as a foreman and climbed 200 foot radar towers. Mike loved to fish, his Harley Davidson, playing cribbage and a good party. He also was a good cook, and frequently made his favorites: chicken burritos or a tuna fish sandwich with "tamed" jalapenos. But most of all, Mike loved his friends and especially his family. He will long be remembered for his love and thoughtfulness about everyone around him. He knew how to be a friend and how to make family his priority. Mike is survived by his wife Kathy Rein of Rocklin, daughter Kim Pinkston of Rocklin, son Patrick Robinson and daughter-in-law Jannory of Sacramento, son Mike Robinson and daughter-in-law Meshay of Grass Valley, grandchildren Victor Vega, Bobby Morales, Marrisa Morales, Morgan Robinson, Aaron Maddox, and Mitchell Maddox, and mother-in-law, Catherine Henretty, and brother and sister in-law, Pat and Karen Henretty, and Larry and Janet Loheit. Mike was a very awesome person who had a very kind heart and soul. He will surely be missed. We know he is in a good place with our Heavenly Father were we will all meet again.

I'm glad Pappy is doing better now. He put up a pretty damn good fight. Just proves how strong he actually was, even in a time when it was just too hard. He truly was and still is a fighter and hero.
