I was privileged to know Mitzi when I was working at the Elk Grove Library in the 1980s. I had been in the same high school class as her very accomplished son John Penney. Mitzi was on my first Friends of the Library group, one of many community activities she supported. Mitzi was always energetic and supportive of her family and community. Lovely lady.

My beautiful grandma was and always will be an inspiration to me. So was so interesting to talk with. She loved nature and travel, reading, birds, and her family and friends... and so much more! She will be forever missed.
