Following a brave and extended battle with cancer, MILDRED MARIE KROGH passed away on Thanksgiving evening at her Citrus Heights home in the presence of her immediate family, five days after her 73rd birthday. In 1962, Millie graduated from Santa Ynez High School with sweetheart Arnie Krogh. She later rejoined her beau who had matriculated to Stanford on a football scholarship. Married in 1966, they soon welcomed a daughter and son. In 1973 Millie and Arnie moved to Sacramento where they both became immersed in the community. Millie served as President of the Cerebral Palsy Guild, and soon developed countless new friendships by her association with the Active 20-30 Club. In her role as the First Lady of Active 20-30 International in the early '80s and later as a Director and President of Sacramento's Active 20-30 Club #1032 Millie made important and lasting contributions to the youth of our community. In 1977, the #1032 Club named Millie as the Woman of the Year and subsequently honored her for 25 years of Perfect Attendance. The Club also renamed its Presidential Service Award for Millie to honor her impact on thousands of lives. In 1999, Millie was inducted into the Golden West Invitational Track & Field's Hall of Fame in recognition of her steadfast support of that event. Nurturing community leaders over the years (eventually decades) came as naturally to Millie as raising her own high-performing children! She took great pride in all of their growth and successes, constantly working to ensure that they knew how valued they were. Millie loved her family FIERCELY. She dedicated her entire life to helping others and her children and precious grandchildren were at the top of that list. Her greatest sorrow came from realizing she will not be present to witness the amazing things she knows they will do in this world. And they will miss their Grammie very much! Millie had a biting wit, a way to make everyone in a room feel like the most important person in the world and she ALWAYS knew EXACTLY the right thing to say. She was creative, FEARLESS and determined. Countless friends came to Millie when they needed to laugh, to cry, to be comforted and LOVED. She gave LEGENDARY hugs and ADORED ladybugs. Her loss leaves a huge void in so many lives. A Celebration of Life for MILLIE KROGH will be held at Bayside Church - Blue Oaks Campus, 10000 Alantown Drive, in Roseville, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 10. Millie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Pascaline and Ernest Frederick. She leaves behind husband, Arnie Krogh, with whom she shared 60 of her 73 years, as well as, daughter, Anne Marie Krogh; son, Arnold Jason Krogh; daughter-in-law, Renee Krogh; grandchildren, Kayla Krogh Johnston, Kennedy Krogh, Cameron Krogh, A.J. Krogh and Piper Krogh; sister, Annette Rogers; brothers, Ernie and John Frederick; sister-in-law, Kathy Lupori; their respective spouses and extended families and her dearest Bunco Babes.
