Millie LOGAN Obituary

LOGAN, Millie
Age 84, lost her battle with COPD on September 2, 2013. She was the youngest of ten children born in Elk City, Idaho, and was a 1945 graduate of Grant Union High School in Portland, Oregon, and was accepted to Stanford. Millie loved life and people and, until her illness, always worked, played and entertained with the best of them. As a youth she loved jumping, racing and showing horses, steeplechasing and singing in a swing band. As a young adult she rode in motorcycle endurance races with the SF Bay City and other motorcycle clubs and she enjoyed water skiing, camping, hunting and fishing. Millie retired from Sacramento's Holiday Markets as their bookkeeper. She was a long time member of the Sacramento Horsemen's Association, loved riding her horse Suzi on the Acrade Creek horse trails and was well known for feeding, rescuing and fostering feral cats there. She was married for 31 years to her beloved Tom, who preceded her in death, as did her son Cliff Paulsen. She is survived and will be forever loved by her daughter, Linda Paulsen-Rippey (George), her sister Mary Eilers, and her step children, Jean Cassinerio (Ben), Judy Aviero, and Marty Logan (Lori). She will also be missed by her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her Arkansas family and many wonderful friends.
Friends are invited to attend a family graveside service at Sylvan District Cemetery, 7401 Auburn Blvd., Citrus Heights, at 11:30AM on Friday, September 6, 2013. Remembrances in Millie's name can be made to Happy Tails, 6001 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95864 or St. Vincent de Paul Sacramento Council, P.O. Box 162487, Sacramento, CA 95816-2487.

Millie, you will forever be a shining star in my memory. Thank you for all the wonderful years of hosting me when I was a child, and putting us up when we stopped en-route to or from vacations. My condolences go out to Linda & George and all of Tom's family as well. No more suffering for you now. Rest in peace. love Lyle & Sue

I loved Millie's zest for life and her irreverent sense of humor. What a gracious and wonderful hostess she was! I will miss stopping to see her as we pass through Sacramento.
Love and condolences to Linda and George and all Millie's family.
