Citrus Heights, California - Motoko Price of Citrus Heights, California, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022, at the age of 90. Motoko was born in Tokyo, Japan on October 14, 1931. She met her husband, David, a young Airman in the Air Force, and they married in Tokyo, on May 23, 1957. Motoko was accomplished in many areas. She was an accredited instructor of Ikebana, the art of Japanese Flower Arranging and Design, taught the art of Bonsai and was an expert seamstress. After retiring from the Air Force, they settled in Sacramento, established Prices' Custom Jewelers, and raised their 4 children. Motoko was dedicated to her family and was lovingly nicknamed "Basan" (Japanese for Grandma), a term her family used to honor her Japanese heritage. She was a loving caregiver to her husband David, after he was diagnosed with long term Alzheimer's. Motoko was a woman of faith and was a long-time member of the Penryn Buddhist Church in Penryn, CA. She faithfully attended bible study with her close circle of friends, whom she knew and cherished for many years. Motoko is preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Arnold Price and eldest son, Michael David Price. She is survived by her children, Rachelle Angelo (Dave) of North Ogden, UT, Roben Brown (Anthony) of Citrus Heights, CA and Marc Price of Paris, TX, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Motoko's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Calvary Catholic Cemetary, 7101 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights, CA 95610. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
