Norma STRINGFELLOW Obituary

STRINGFELLOW, Norma 'Jo'
On March 15, 2013, in her home and surrounded by family, Norma 'Jo' Stringfellow rejoined her loving husband Dale and her three sisters after a short but brave struggle with leukemia. She was 89 years old.

Born in Grass Valley, CA on Aug. 14, 1923, Norma spent her childhood in many sites due to her father's construction business. She finally settled in Draper, UT, where she attended Jordan High and met her life-long love, Dale. They married Nov. 10, 1942. After the war, she made homes in Covina, Hidden Valley (Loomis), Benicia, Stateline, NV, and finally Lincoln Hills. 'Jo' was the anchor of our family. Her neatness and organization allowed Dale and her children to pursue their dreams and yet always have an immaculate home to come back to.

'Jo' had a tremendous sense of humor. She charmed everyone she met, she loved a tease or a good joke, and could kid with the best. She focused her life on her family and grandchildren, but also loved her friends, travel, steamed clams, flowers that she could watch open their blooms, and playing Mexican Train. Jo was preceded in death by her parents (Paul and Verde Guinn) her sisters (Loretta Finlay, Fern Buchanan, and Pauline Yates), and her husband Dale. She is survived by children Gary (Susan), Leslie Martinson (Dr. Kris), and Bradley (Mary); grandchildren Stefanie Snee (Robert) and Andrew Martinson (Kimi); great-grandchildren Dale Snee and a great-grandson Martinson on the way.

At her request, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that you consider a donation to either the Placer or Sacramento chapters of the SPCA. To leave a message or a memory for the family, please visit www.LambertFuneral.com.

So sorry to hear of Jo's passing. What a wonderful woman, kind, sharp as a tack and we enjoyed having lunch together. How lucky her family is to have had her for so long in their lives. Hugs, Carol Silverman
