Pam Murphy Obituary

After many years of battling to stay alive Pam passed peacefully at home. She had an incredible will to keep living in spite of numerous medical issues. Her wish was to die at home surrounded by her family - a wish that was honored.

She dedicated her life to her family, especially to her twins, Michael and Sarah, and 5 grandkids. Although she had the wherewithal to succeed at anything she could pursue, it was her choice to be a dedicated stay-at-home mom and wife. She was considered the "cool mom" and her home was always open to the neighborhood kids. Her grandkids launched a whole new dimension of her love and affection.

Pam had an uncanny vision of creating something out of nothing. She was an active participant in building her dream home and could see how things would come together when others could not. Whenever a contractor would tell her, "that can't be done," she wouldn't take "no" for an answer. She knew her vision and was able to earn their respect. Her skills in decorating and creating a comfortable setting were amazing. But, she neither wanted credit nor notoriety - her goal was the enjoyment for others.

Pam was a passionate donor for support of animals in need. Her list included: Nowzad Dogs, SPCA, Muttville, Chester Foundation, Welfare of Furry Friends, to name a few. She always said, "The animals have no voice."

She leaves behind husband Don - 54 years of marriage; son Michael, wife Emily and grandkids Madeline, Henry and Caleb; daughter Sarah and grandkids Rosemary and John; sister Judi and husband "Doc" Huntley. She was preceded in death by parents Bud & Jo Sheely and brother Mike.

The family would like to thank UC Davis Hospice and the Foundation Aiding The Elderly for making Pam comfortable in her final days.

A family gathering and celebration of life was held at her home - the sendoff she deserved.
