Patricia A. Becker

1938 - 2017

Patricia A. Becker died at her home in Sacramento on August 26, 2017. She was born in the old Cottage Hospital in San Rafael, CA on November 3, 1938 to Carl F. and Alice Brenner Becker. She attended St. Raphael's Grammar School and Marin Catholic High School. Pat earned her bachelor's degree at San Francisco State College and was granted her teaching credential. Shortly thereafter, she travelled to Okinawa, Japan, where she taught in the elementary schools for the US Military. Upon returning to California, she taught for a brief time in San Rafael before obtaining a teaching position in Sacramento. While teaching in Sacramento, Pat attended Holy Names College in Oakland and earned her master's degree and qualified as a reading specialist. She was a dedicated teacher who taught more than forty-five years in Sacramento schools. She retired in 2010. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard A. Becker. She was a devout member of St. Stephen the First Martyr Catholic Church and was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. She will be remembered by many students, friends and family. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 9 at St. Stephen the First Martyr located at 5461 44th Street, Sacramento CA 95820. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery where there will also be a rosary on Friday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m.
