Pedro Codina Obituary

Pedro (Pete) Codina, a lifelong resident of Fair Oaks, CA passed away May 14, 2014 peacefully in his home at the age of 91. Born July 29, 1922 in Fair Oaks, CA to Frank & Neva Codina, he graduated from San Juan high school where he was a star player on the school's basketball team. As a Navy veteran of WWII, he returned home in 1946 to open Pete Codina's Chevron station, where he was a well-known and much loved member of the community. Following the closure of his station, he began a career with the State Controller's Office from which he later retired. Pete and his wife Mary traveled to many parts of the world during his retirement. He charmed everyone he met with his good-natured humor and above all, he loved his family. His tremendous presence will be greatly missed. Pete is preceded in death by parents, Frank & Neva Codina and older brother Joe and is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Codina, sons Mike, Tom, Chris, & Pete Jr., 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, twin sister Isabel Coval & older brother Tony Codina. A memorial service will be held at St. Mel's Catholic Church on May 22 at 10:00 am.
