Pete Warmerdam Obituary

Pete Warmerdam passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on March 29, 2013 in Sacramento, CA. He was born October 1, 1919 in Noordwijkerhout, Netherlands. As a boy he helped his father grow tulip bulbs on their farm. He served in the Dutch Army in World War II and survived internment in a POW camp. After the war he immigrated to Canada where met the love of his life, Rebecca. They married and moved to Sacramento where they raised their family. Pete enjoyed bowling, hockey and soccer. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Rebecca. He will be missed terribly by his children, Victor (Barbara), Peter (Melanie), Cathryn (Rod), Brian and Wayne and his grandchildren Aaron (Chrissie), Amanda (Mike), Taylor and Nicole. He is survived by his brother Victor (Carol), sister Philo and many nieces and nephews. The rosary will be on Friday, April,12, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Presentation Church, 4123 Robertson Ave, Sacramento, CA 95821. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
