Peter Vathis Obituary
VATHIS, Peter
Passed away peacefully in the arms of his family March 3, 2007, in Sacramento, Calif., at age 82. Born May 1, 1924, in Argos, Greece. Preceded in death by his father Nick Vathis, mother Helen Vathis, his brothers George and Bill Vathis and his granddaughter Angela. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Pauline, brother Steve Vathis and wife Helen, son Nick Vathis and wife Christina, loving daughter Helen Raygoza and husband Martin, his loving grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He loved his home and to entertain the many people who often visited him. He loved his country ofGreece and was proud to be a American. He was involved in the G.A.P.A. and served 14 years as president, the Annunciation Senior League, Peloponnesian Society of Sacramento and the Athenian Club. Viewing from 1:00-5:00 PM on Wednesday, March 7, at the NICOLETTI, CULJIS AND HERBERGER FUNERAL HOME. Trisagion to be held at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 7 at the Greek Orthodox Church, 600 Alhambra Blvd., Sacramento, Calif. Funeral Services on Thursday, March 8, at 11:00 AM at the Greek Orthodox Church. Internment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Sacramento. He will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Vathis and Family,
There's a German Proverb that says:
"Those who live in the Lord, never see each other for the last time."

Pauline and Family:
My sincere condolences for your loss.
Everybody liked Petro. I was fortunate to get to know him through our church and also the GAPA. We all enjoyed attending the GAPA meetings while he was President. He added a bit of enthusiam and comedy along with his sincerity to the GAPA organization.
He will be missed.
