Ralph HOWELL Obituary

HOWELL, Ralph Eddie
At 4:23 PM on March 6, 2011, Mr. Howell passed away with close friends at his bedside after a long period of declining health. The youngest of three siblings, Ralph Howell was born on May 14, 1935 in Spokane, Washington. Little is known of his brother and sister of Spokane, Washington, who are believed to have pre-deceased Mr. Howell. He graduated High School and attended nursing school at Sacred Heart Hospital in Washington, and later a hotel school for cooking in San Francisco. He trained at the Sheraton Palace and later worked at Ondeens Restaurant in Sausalito. In 1956, he became employed at Kaiser in San Francisco as an Operating Room technician and later transferred to the Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento. He worked for Kaiser Permanente for approximately 55 years. In the mid-eighties Ralph became a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and transferred to the Kaiser ADAP, now known as CDRP at the Watt and Marconi clinic in Sacramento. Ralph enjoyed good friends, fine dining and creating exquisite menus. A gentleman for all seasons, he enjoyed opera and antique auctions, as well as fishing. Mr. Howell was a friend of Bill W. for thirty years. Ralph appreciated everything that was done for him and he expressed that with unconditional regard and unending service. With grace and poise in his life as in his passing, Ralph E. Howell will be fondly remembered by his friends Gordon S., Pat D., Judy C., Bill R., Charley, and Allen R., and by the countless others whose lives he touched. A memorial meeting will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on April 10, 2011 at 3501 2nd Ave, Sacramento, CA.
