Rebecca CHAVEZ Obituary
CHAVEZ, Rebecca
Born February 11, 1973, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on February 16, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Eddie; their beautiful children, Ileana (10) and Julian (8); her parents, Javier and Carmen Flores; brothers, Javier Jr. (Lisa) & Ricardo; maternal grandmother, Guadalupe Padilla & a large extended family. She graduated from UC Davis and worked for the State of CA. She treasured spending time with family & friends and cherished each day to the fullest. She lifted people's spirits with her presence & radiant smile that gave hope, inspiration, and peace to everyone. Her unconditional love for God allowed her family to come together to experience God's greatest gifts. The rosary will be held on Tuesday Feb. 22nd at 7 pm and the funeral mass will be on Feb. 23rd at 10 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 9539 Racquet Ct., Elk Grove. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave, Sacramento.

I worked with Rebecca at the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology 17 Years ago. After that, I saw her off and on through the years. I had the pleasure of meeting Becky when we became friends while attending Fern Bacon Middle School. I will always remember her beautiful smile, her curly bob and her white keds and ankle socks. Becky was always positive and great to be around. I have fond memories of us hanging out after school and all the love that was always in her home. I lost touch with Becky over the years but I will always remember her. God bless her family and may the loving memories you have carry you through these challenging times.

Rebecca was a true sweetheart.
I worked with her at the Board of Barbering & Cosmetology and sat across from her for a short time. We had some great conversations and she always had something nice to say about everyone. Needless to say, we all have only nice things to say about her.
I feel blessed to have known such a beautiful person.

I grew up with Becky from 2nd grade at John Bidwell and parted ways when we graduated from Fern Bacon, but whenever I ran into Becky over the years, she was always her sweet and loving self. I met Becky when she was in seventh grade at Fern Bacon. I remember Becky’s friendly, outgoing personality and she always had a great smile. Over the years we would run into each other at weddings and other gatherings. She was such a sweetheart with that pretty smile of hers. I had not seen her for a number of years but would always hear about her through family and friends. I’m very sorry to hear of Becky’s passing. My heart goes out to her family. I met Rebecca when we both began to work for the State almost 20 years ago she was a student assistant and I was a seasonal clerk. We worked together for several years, during that time we shared many laughs. Rebecca was kind, witty, and genuine.

I had the pleasure of working with Rebecca at the Cemetery & Funeral Bureau. I will always remember her warm smile and how she lit up everytime she talked about Eddie or the kids. Becky and I were Fern Bacon middle school friends. I remember how much she loved her parents and her brothers. She always had a smile on her face when she spoke of them. I have vivid memories of playing with my cousin Becky in her toy-filled room. I was about 6 yrs old, and she was 4. We had so much fun together. Then at 12yrs old she participated in my quinceanera; her first one. But my favorite memory is when I saw Becky and Eddie last year at Coach's having a night out. They were supporting Eddie's uncle singing with Latin Touch and they looked so happy dancing all night. Prima, I will miss you with all of my heart ~

I worked with Rebecca at the Department of Consumer Affairs. When I began working Rebecca was a student assistant. I watched her grow from a young girl into a woman. I remember when she married,bought a house and had her children she was what any parent would hope for the perfect child. She is truly an Angel I believe God has a beautiful set of wings just for her. I hope the family can find Peace knowing that she was loved and touched so many of us at the Dept. Rebecca has a beautiful family her children and husband meant the world to her. I believe that her children will grow up and be just as loving and kind as she was.
