Robert Cosman

1946 - 2025

Robert Wayne "Bob" Cosman, 79, passed away on November 3, 2025, in Sacramento, California.

Born on October 25, 1946, in Salem, Massachusetts, Bob, joined the U.S. Navy at 17 and served for three years during the Vietnam era as an electrician. He moved to California in the seventies, and was employed by Lehr Automotive 45 years.

A gifted photographer and artist who worked in various media, he brought creativity and thoughtfulness to everything he did. He had a deep love for music, and was dedicated to the Sacramento Blues Society for many years. He was an avid NASCAR and Kings fan.

Known for his intelligence, humility, and grounded nature, Bob was a thoughtful conversationalist who valued understanding over judgment. He built his own computer and enjoyed exploring technology with curiosity and skill.

Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife Jan Kelley and her family, his son Brian Cosman; his sister Shirley and Bob Smith, and their children Robyn and Jonathan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Louis Cosman.

A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento, Welcome Hall, 2425 Sierra Blvd., on November 19, 2025, at 2:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Bob's memory.
