Robert Dayton

1938 - 2025

Robert (Bob) Eugene Dayton, 87, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his son, Dave, and daughter, Sandy. His fondest memories were spent with family and friends. As a diehard race car enthusiast, he enjoyed taking his vintage Mustang and Morgan to local car shows.



Bob was born in Merced, CA, on August 30, 1938, born to Ethel and Carroll Dayton and is preceded in death by them, his son, Ronnie and his cherished wife of 55 years, Eileen. Bob was born and raised in the Central Valley of California where he met Eileen and this is where their love story began. They moved to San Jose, CA in 1962 then moved to Denver, CO but eventually relocated to Elk Grove, CA, their "forever" home.





Bob spent 3 years at Fresno State majoring in architectural engineering before being drafted into the Army where he was an instructor. Once discharged, he joined the retail clerks union and managed several grocery stores throughout Northern CA. He obtained his real estate license in early 2000.



Funeral Services will be held at Sacramento Memorial Lawn at 6100 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95824 on Thursday, December 4, 2025; viewing begins at 11 am with graveside service at 12 pm. Remembrance following, details provided at service.
