HEFNER, Robert Kenneth
'Bud'
Born December 14, 1924 in Sacramento, CA. Entered into rest August 19, 2013 in Roseville, CA. Bob was a loving husband to Chris Hefner for 65 years. Survived by his children Ron Hefner (Kathie Hefner) and Jan Hefner-Bjekich (Bob Bjekich). Bob is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, John L. & Daisy Nichols Hefner. Bob retired from the State of California, Department of Education after a long career as a truck driver. Thanks to everyone that remembers Bob as a generous and fun-loving friend, father, co-worker, and devoted partner to his Chrissy. Bud served in the US Army in WWII as a sergeant over seeing the mess halls in the Philippines. Bob will be forever in our hearts. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Chapel of the Valley, 97 Vernon St., Roseville, CA at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Roseville Cemetery, 421 Berry St., Roseville, CA at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services entrusted to Chapel of the Valley.

Jan its been many years since we've seen each other, I do think of you often. Its really never enough to say I'm sorry. However those are the only words I have for you. I am so very sorry for the loss of your dad.

We met Bud through building our family tree for the Hefner family. His daughter Jan is the one who located us and we provided photos of Bud's father, which he had never seen...Bud was 86 at the time when we first met and it gave us such joy to help fill in some of the blanks in his life and his ancestry. His father, John L. Hefner was my (Bill's) great uncle (though I never met him either) and we had built quite an extensive ancestry tree. Jan helped a great deal to add information about their branch of the tree. We also had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Chrissy prior to her passing and what a joy she was. It is with very mixed emotions that we say goodbye to Bud but we know that he is now with his beloved Chrissy and probably giving hell to his father for it taking 86 years to learn about him. Bud will always be remembered with joy because of his dry sense of humor...something he had in common with my grandfather as well. May God watch over your soul, Bud, as well as the rest of the family...we will miss you.
