Robert Hartley Roswald

Born in Harvey, ND, June 3, 1926; passed Jan. 8, 2014 in El Dorado Hills, CA. Beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Trudy, children Scott (& De) Roswald, Julie Mull, Keith (& Diane) Roswald, Gary (& Lisa) Roswald, and Lisa (& Rick) Nadeau, grandchildren Jason (& Robyn) Imrie, Eric Imrie, Jacob Roswald, and Lindsay and David Nadeau, great grandchildren Holden and Hunter Imrie, sister Lois Gilbert, sister-in-law Mary Roswald and nieces Cathy Smith, Patty Roswald, and Jeannie Kearns. He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Grace Roswald, brother Owen, son-in-law Lee Mull, brother-in-law Walt Gilbert, and nephew Jim Roswald Bob was proud to have served in the US Navy on Green Island in the South Pacific during WWII, and loved to share stories of his service and life on the small island. He worked at many jobs, sometimes a few at a time to provide for his family, but the pride and highlight of his civilian career were the years he worked as a Sacramento County Marshal. Family, country and faith were his priorities, and his family and friends are better for having had him in their lives. Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Jan. 16, 2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. at Green Valley Mortuary/Cemetery, 3004 Alexandrite Dr, Rescue, CA. A funeral mass will be held on Jan. 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, 3111 Tierra de Dios Dr, El Dorado Hills, CA, grave side services following at Green Valley Cemetery, with a gathering after at Holy Trinity Parish. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bob's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
