'Bob' Harold
Dr. Robert (Bob) Harold Wright, Jr., 79, of Yuba City, CA, passed away March 20, 2014. Bob was born September 12, 1934 in Berkeley, CA to his parents Robert and Henrietta Wright. In his youth he was a member of the Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended the University of California Berkeley and received his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest College in Winston-Salem, NC. He then joined the Army and completed a residency in urology at Fort Sam Houston, TX. He spent 12 years in the Medical Corps on active duty, achieving the rank of Colonel. He continued in the Army Reserve and upon retirement received the Legion of Merit Award. In 1972 he joined the Marysville Medical Clinic and was instrumental in its becoming part of Sutter Health and forming the Sutter North Medical Group, which has grown to over 100 physicians. He served the organization for many years as its President and CEO and also held position of CMO of Eastern Region Sutter Health.
Bob was a dedicated doctor whose passion was caring for his patients. His other interests included sailing, golfing, good wine, and preparing gourmet food. Bob was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and the community.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Benstock and husband Scott, of Sebastopol, CA; Leslie Wright and life partner Jennifer Ellis, of Denver, CO; Lyn Van Tighem and husband Brad, of Petaluma, CA; grandchildren Jessie and Brendan Benstock and Jason and Aaron Van Tighem; ex-wife Pat Wright of Yuba City; ex-wife Racquel Wright of Yuba City; fiancee Roberta June Kalfsbeek of Live Oak, CA, and her children Samantha and Oscar.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Henrietta and Robert Wright Sr. and stepson Brent Benbow.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dr. Wright's memory to Sutter North Medical Foundation or Operation Warm Heart.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel (530) 673-9542.

I often wondered what happened to Bob?
He was an angel over me in a time of despair. I had nobody and did not care if I lived or died, but his encouraging words that he spoke softly and firm always stay in the back of my head.
I´m finally at a place where I think he would be proud of me.
My condolence goes out to all of his loved ones I know you don´t know me but your dad husband grandfather son was a wonderful friend and mentor to me.

I worked with Dr. Wright at RMH for 20+ years. I appreciated that we never saw him throw tantrums or get angry. He was always a very caring, professional gentleman. I will always remember him for that. Condolences to the family.

I worked as an RN at Fremont Hospital for 35 years. Dr. Wright was always a kind soul and a gentleman. He treated his patients and the nurses well. To his family , so sorry for your loss
