Sept. 5, 1944 - Sept. 16, 2011
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather departed this life on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento, CA with his family by his side. He was 67 years old.
Ronald retired after 32 years as a Lieutenant with the California Highway Patrol.
Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronald will be forever remembered with joy in our hearts and a loving smile by his devoted wife of 46 years Della M. Casey, son Steve (Kim) and daughter Stephanie, grandchildren Gianna M. Casey, Joel M. Casey and Michael L. Casey, and great-grandson Josiah A. Harris, two brothers Herbert (Annette) and Norman and a host of family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm at Morgan Jones Chapel of Chimes, 4200 Broadway.
Celebration of his life Friday, September 23, 2011, 11 am at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Campus, 3996 14th Avenue. Interment will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes.

I send my sincere condolences to you and your family. I had the pleasure of working with Ron back when he was a Sgt in South Sac. He was always so kind to the Communications staff and treated everyone the same. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing; he was a wonderful man. God Bless

Mrs. Casey;
Ron was my sergeant and sustained the only citizens' complaint I ever received as a member of the CHP. I deserved it and it made me better. I always enjoyed those occasions my path crossed with Ron's in the subsequent years. Please accept my deepest sympathy and know the lessons imparted by Ron and his high personal standards and expectations are being taught to a whole new generation of law enforcemnt officers.

Della, you were newlyweds when I was at the CHP Academy with Ron "Casey." I remember how proud he was when graduating on October 19, 1967.
Casey was clearly the most beloved member of our training class, admired by all. Even though I haven't seen him since our graduation, I have often remembered and thought of him and frequently looked upon him as a great role model. I'm sure most if not all members of the CHP will continue to think of Casey frequently.
