Ronald Simmons Obituary

SIMMONS, Ronald E.
July 12, 1943-Sept 8, 2007
Ron Simmons passed away peacefully at home in Carmichael, Calif., in the presence of his family. Ron is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughters Kami (Ryan), Ronee (Brian) and son Michael. He is also survived by his sister Pat (Tom), lifelong friends Steve and Dee Dee, and an extensive group of family and friends. Ron was also the proud "papa" of Sage and Indy. Ron was raised in both Brewton, Alabama and Redding, California. He moved to the Sacramento area in 1973. Ron was an avid race car driver and fan. He pursued his love of racing at several northern California tracks including Anderson, Chico and West Capital Raceway. Ron fought a long and difficult battle with Mesothelioma. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, although he will forever be in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 13, at 2:00 PM at the Mount Vernon Chapel on Greenback Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UC Davis Cancer Center in Rons name.
