HOLMES, Ryan Anthony
''Ry-Ry''
Was called home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2010. Diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer almost two years ago, he put up a courageous fight, always displaying his warm and friendly smile. Despite many health challenges, he was able to radiate a charming and gentle spirit that affected all in his presence. Ryan was born on April 7, 1988, in Sacramento, Calif., to Willie and Deborah Holmes. The family relocated to Wilton, Calif., but they continued an active church participation at Southport Christian Center and Radiant Life Church in Sacramento. Ryan was encouraged in his Christian development by example, and for his love of Jesus, he participated in the Youth Brigade. After home schooling, Ryan attended Galt High School, where he was a member of the football and baseball teams. With encouragement and guidance from his father, he also became an outstanding pitcher in Little League. Upon graduation, he attended CRC, majoring in Criminal Justice and aspiring for a career in law enforcement. Ryan was devoted to his family and was able to spend his final week at home with his family under the loving care of his parents. He leaves to cherish his beloved memory his parents, brothers Richard, Russell, and Reggie, his sisters Amilah and Ashleigh, son Ryan Anthony, grandparent Horace McFall (''G-Pop''), uncles Steven (Lea) and Jon (Erica), aunt Cassandra (Troy), and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A memorial service is scheduled to celebrate his life on Friday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Valley Hi Covenant Church.

Dear Willie, Deborah and Family,
I am at such a loss for words but I wanted to let you know that I will always be thankful of the time we spent together walking in the rain,dinner at Sylvia's and for having the chance to get to know my cousin Ryan and finding out his taste in sneakers and his dreams. Dearest Daddy, Debbie, Willie and Family,
We were so sorry to hear of the passing of our dear Ryan, he was such a wonderful nephew with the kindest heart, warm personality, charming wit and gorgeous smile....he was such a blessing and bright light in our lives and he will forever keep and treasure him in our hearts. We know that now Heaven has another angel and he and Mom are happy and smiling down at us and we will all rejoice together again one day.
