I am originally from Valley City, North Dakota, where the temperature was 93 degrees today, Jeremy, and I now live in Indianapolis, IN. I attended school with Sally and after graduation, our journeys took separate paths. But the memories we shared would be renewed at those wonderful reunions.
Our class maintains a connection on line and Elaine Grubb shared the news of Sally's passing and also gave us the link for her Celebration Service.
I just finished watching the service and my heart was truly warmed. Her picture revealed the same smile she had in kindergarten. The love she shared with her family was heartfelt throughout the service in the words of her children and she certainly blessed the lives of many good friends. The great joy for me was the fact that somewhere along the way she met Jesus. The image of her worn Bible was so very special. I have one just like it but I have never given up my old King James Version.
We weave in and out of each others lives, hold on to good memories and sometimes wish we would have had more time together. Nonetheless, we started together, and through this wonderful service, we ended together; for that, I am truly blessed.

I met Sally when i was an exchange student in Valley City. She was a wonderful person making this year a wonderful and important time of my life. Later we met at the reunions and in Germany whre she spent some days with my family. In 1985 we spent some time with her family in San José. Our kids did not a word English or German but had lots of fun with Pac-Man and the Commodor compunter. My thoughts will be with her kids who lost va wonderful mother.

Sally and I became friends only as adults because of our wonderful high school reunions in Valley City, North Dakota. Even though the attendees at our All 60s reunion in 2005 had as much as a 10 year age difference, we all became "16" again at these reunions. Sally was in my sister's HS class, and as a result Sally and I learned we lived only 80 miles apart in California. After that we spent time together and I learned to love Sally's vivacious personality due to our mutual interest in nostalgia. To illustrate Sally's generous spirit, I will be forever grateful to her for driving that 80 miles to bring me a wonderful lunch during my recovery from knee surgery. We also shared her wonderful photos from high school that I copied and will treasure always. Sally was a beautiful soul both inside and out. She will be missed greatly and my condolences go out to her family.
