Salvatore "Sal" Megna

1930 - 2016

Died peacefully May 10, 2016 with family at his side. Early in his life he was considered an icon in the Hairdressing field and won many awards. Sal owned beauty colleges, salons and for many years invented beauty related products. He traveled the world and authored books; enriching his life and the lives of many others. He inspired us to "Dream the Seemingly Impossible Dream, and make it come true!" He brought 3 of his children, 2 brothers, many in-laws, nieces, nephews and 1 granddaughter into the hairdressing field, along with many students and co-workers who became lifelong friends. Salvatore leaves behind brothers Tom and Jack Megna. He was blessed with seven children to honor his memory, sons Thomas Megna, David Magna (Kellie), daughters SaliAnn Megna, Cindi Chilelli (Mike), Julia Megna Thompson (John), Lori Ruzek (Mark), Kristin Kaski (Derrick). Grandchildren: Liz Koogle, Forrest Koogle, Joe Magna, Alex Megna, Madison Megna (their mother Cindy Megna), Angela Landgraf (Brian), Anthony Chilelli, Nicola Chilelli, Teagan Thompson, Kira Thompson, Kristina Bruce (Jason), Marcus Ruzek (Morgan), Ryan Ruzek, Gianni Magna, Ruby Magna, Daisy Kaski, Jack Kaski, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, the mother of his children, former wife and life long friend Joanna Milano Megna Trovato. His long time companion Darlene Blizzard. Sal had a sincere way of showing his love and generosity to all of his big family of friends. Remembering especially Nancy Rodgers and caregiver Suzette. Sal the "Salty Dog" loved to relax at the Family Houseboat on the Delta. Some of the Family will be there May 28 ~ 29 friends are invited to stop by and share a story or 2 from noon to 6pm.
