Shirley was one-of-a-kind! I met her when we joined a Peace Group in Auburn to protest the Iraq war. I knew then we were kindred spirits. I later took Shirley's Memoir Writing course and drove her each week to her class where she enlightened and entertained us all with her infectious laughter and childlike spirit. Shirley often talked about her loyal husband and loving family. She cherished you all and left you with a most wonderful gift - her heartfelt writings and personal Memoir Album. Shirley was a beautiful human being and I'm so thankful to have known her. Irene Smith

Shirley was an inspiration to me when I took her "Write Your Memoir" class in Auburn. I still write to this day because of her encouragement. I am deeply thankful for her help in getting my words to flow on paper. She will be greatly missed. Shirley, may your smile light up heaven.

So sorry to hear of your mother passing. No words can ever express the loss of a dear loved one. It's time like these when the loving promises of our heavenly Father can baring us comfort and can soften some of the pain we feel in our hearts. (1 Thessalonians 4:13,14)
