Citrus Heights, California - It is with great sadness that I share the loss of my sister Sue Ann Walkner. Sue passed away in her home in Citrus Heights, California, at the age of 75 on Thursday, September 29, 2022, after fighting a more than 30 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Sue met this every day with formidable courage and fought bravely until intractable pain took over and her body declined.
Sue was a lifelong Sacramento area resident. After graduating from Norte Del Rio High School, she became a career employee of the State of California working as an Associate Government Program Analyst for the Department of Corrections.
Sue is survived by sister Barbara Walkner Fraivillig and longtime caregiver Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Betalee (Craig) Walkner and sister Catherine Walkner Petry.
Sue loved her pets and opened her heart to many throughout her years.
There was a small graveside memorial in October at Calvary Cemetery as Sue was laid to rest next to her parents and sister Catherine.
