ALBERTS, Thomas E. 'Tom'
Born in Littleton, Colorado on June 3, 1955 to Robert and Barbara Alberts, Tom Alberts passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2012. Tom is survived by his wife, Betsy, of 34 years and two children, Brian 27 and Erin 15. He is also survived by his parents; sisters Mary Ellen Bellairs (Charles), Celia Alberts-Noufi (Rommel), Rita Mitchell (Michael), Sharon Alberts-Cox (Jerry), Eileen Campbell (Craig), Beth O'Leary (Paul); a brother Jim Alberts (Amy); sister-in-law Sally Thurston (Paul); and 18 nieces and nephews. Tom grew up in the Denver area and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Tom later obtained his Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He worked for Intel Corporation for 25 years in several management positions and travelled extensively to Europe and Asia. During his tenure at Intel, he also received his Electrical Engineering Degree from Arizona State University. After retiring from Intel, Tom became a marketing consultant and associate professor at the Sacramento State University Executive MBA program.

Tom was an avid skier, golfer and scuba diver. He was a lifelong fan of the Denver Broncos and Cal Bears. As a loving husband and father, Tom very much enjoyed spending time with his family traveling and attending sporting events for his children. Tom has also been an active member of the Fair Oaks Rotary Club for many years. Tom had a great sense of humor and was a friend to many.

A viewing will be held at Russ Monroe Funeral Home in Fair Oaks on Thursday, November 29 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary immediately following. A Catholic mass will be held Friday, November 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacramento State University's Newman Center located at 5900 Newman Court, Sacramento, CA.
