Tipton Kindel Obituary
October 11, 1943 - February 28, 2025
West Sacramento, California - Tip passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the age of 81.
Tip built a distinguished career in journalism and communications. He worked for many years as a reporter and producer for KCRA Channel 3 before transitioning to a role as the Assistant Director of Communications for the California Department of Corrections. His dedication to his profession left a lasting impact on those he worked with and the communities he served.
Beyond his career, Tip was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His warmth and kindness touched many lives, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life is planned for April 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. 3262 Marysville Blvd., Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tip's memory to Shriners Hospital for Children Northern California or the Sacramento SPCA.

My condolences to Tip´s loving family. My former wife Mary Richardson worked with Tip for a number of years at KCRA back in the 1970s. She always appreciated his professionalism and kind demeanor. Mary passed away several years ago but would want me to extend our warm regards to Tip´s family. Tip was a good man. Paul Richardson

I grew up in Sacramento, he was an excellent reporter. I remember Tip coming to my high school when we had an issue of overcrowding on buses. Nice man.
