Davis, California - Todd Lindsay Erickson passed away suddenly on April 21, 2022 at the age of 47.
Todd was born in Dayton, Ohio, moving to California when he was five, going to school in Sacramento, receiving his undergraduate education at the University of California, San Diego, then graduate school at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree, and met his wife, Melissa Barnett Erickson. Todd practiced optometry for almost twenty-one years and was married for nineteen and a half years. He lived in Sacramento for ten years, and then in Davis for ten years.
Besides his professional accomplishments, Todd was known for his loving and kind personality. He was always gracious and went above and beyond when helping others. On a practical level, he could fix anything. As husband, he and Melissa enjoyed raising their family together and sharing their professional knowledge. As father, he loved being part of his sons' sports endeavors so that when Alex and Drew engaged in sports, he became a swim official and water polo coordinator. As a person, Todd loved his Challenger car, sushi, ice cream, root beer floats, and traveling the world, especially going to Lake Tahoe with his family. He prepared waffles from scratch every Wednesday night for Thursday morning breakfast. Todd was extremely organized, loved looking forward to the next new adventure, and was respected and loved by everyone who knew and met him. He had the kind of personality that would bring a smile to a person's face when hearing his name.
Todd is survived by his wife, Melissa Barnett Erickson, sons, Alex and Drew, mother, Carolyn Tillman, father, Dennis Erickson, and sister, Monica McCoy.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 11 am at the Congregation Bet Haverim, 1715 Anderson Road, Davis, CA.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Dr. Erickson. I was his patient and always looked forward to my visits. He was so personable, warm and upbeat that he made it a pleasure to have an eye exam. He certainly will be missed by myself and by so many others I'm sure.

Erickson family,
