Tom Leong Obituary
LEONG, Tom
Passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2007 at the age of 77 in Sacramento. Tom was born in Newcastle, CA. on December 25, 1929. He is survived by Velma, his devoted wife of 53 years. He was a loving father to Michael (Tammie), Kathy (Bill Asai), Jerry (Carol), and Cindy (Ron Yee). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Stacie and Kevin Asai; Trisha and Leslie Leong; Corey, Alanna, Garrett, and Bryce Yee. Tom was a Korean War Veteran. He retired from the State Dept. of Water Resources after 38 years of dedicated service. Predeceased by parents, Mr. & Mrs. Kim Soon Leong, brothers Jim, Harry, Frank, Dick, and sister Helen Foey. Survived by sisters May Yue, Elsie Wong, Mary Ung, Mabel Leong; brothers Bill and Don; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Friends and family are invited to a Wake on Sunday, April 29 from 3-5 p.m. and to the service on Monday, April 30 at 12:00 p.m. Both will be held at East Lawn Andrews & Greilich, 3939 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation, P.O. Box 221838 Sacramento, CA 95822, or The Chinese Community Church Building Fund, 5600 Gilgunn Way, Sacramento, CA 95822.
