Veronica Ann "Ronnie" Lambert obituary, Sacramento, CA

Veronica Lambert Obituary

Veronica Ann Lambert was a beautiful, gracious, generous, loving woman of faith, character and substance who possessed great determination, courage and compassion for others. Her family meant the world to her and we will be forever thankful for her intense love and devotion, and for all that she taught us about honor and the essence of life. By her example, she always encouraged each of us to listen to the "better angels of our nature." Ronnie was born in Sacramento, with her early childhood years spent in Jackson, California. She was the daughter of the town physician and spoke fondly of the times spent with her father riding along on his house calls, playing in the swimming hole in Volcano and walking to the little town library with her mother and sisters. After moving to Sacramento, she lived in Land Park, graduated as Valedictorian of CK. McClatchy High School, and met and married the love of her life, Richard V. Lambert, Sr. She treasured her many dear friends throughout the years, never knew a stranger and there was always room at her table. Ronnie had an abundant love for children, supported the Sacramento Children's Home, various charities and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her work at Grebitus and Sons and her sense of beauty and style was reflected in everything she touched, especially her lovely garden and home. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile that would light up any room. Her deepest joy was being surrounded by her family, and all of her "babies", of whom she was so very proud. Through both her sorrow and her joy, her selfless love and endless encouragement will never be forgotten, and her legacy will live on in each of us who remain. Ronnie was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred F. Lowe, M.D. and Esther Mary Lowe; sister, Peggy Parker; and her husband, Richard V. Lambert, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Mona Jordan (Jay); son, Richard V Lambert, Jr. (Hiroko); sister, Katie Breining; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Campagne, J.D. (Justin), Jennifer Hersevoort, M.D. (Shawn); and her six great-grand- children, Kate, Laura, Jack, Adeline, Evelyn and Penelope to whom she was known as their beloved "Mimi." Mom loved all of us "to pieces" and her passing leaves a void, but our lives have been enriched beyond measure because she lived. And so we say farewell and Godspeed to our precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, until we meet again. Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 13th at 2:00 p.m.at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1701 L St, Sacramento, Church Parking Garage entrance is on K St. between 17th and 18th. Memorial donations in Ronnie's name may be made to The Sacramento Children's Home, 2725 Sutterville Rd. Sacramento, CA 95820.
