ENRIGHT, William Michael
Sept. 13, 1924 - Sept. 25, 2010

William (Bill) Michael Enright passed away on September 25, 2010 at the age of 86 after a short illness. Bill was born in Chicago, IL but moved to Berkeley, CA shortly after his birth. He attended St Marys High School in Berkeley, CA participating on the Basketball and Track Teams, as well as finding time to work the High School Sports Beat for the Berkeley Gazette. Bill served in the Army in the South Pacific during WWII and earned the Bronze Star for his service. He participated in the liberation of Prisoners held captive in the Bilibid prison in the Philippines. After the War he returned to Berkeley to attend the University of California at Berkeley and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Bill retired from International Harvester in 1982 after 33 years of employment as a Parts Manager. He eventually settled in Roseville, CA in 1997 and was active with the Veterans and Republicans Clubs in Sun City, as well as the Roseville Elks Lodge. Bill will be remembered for his love of the University of California at Berkeley Sports Teams and traveling to his favorite places in the Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his wife Colleen May Enright; father, Francis Joseph Enright; and his mother, Blanche Emily Hubeny Enright. He is survived by 3 children: Barbara Enright Akbarian, Richard Paul Enright (Stephanie) and Michael William Enright; grandchildren: Robert, Amy (Paul), Kelly (Wade), Rebecca, Shannon (Brad), Sean, Kyle and Corry; great-grandchildren: Mallory, Tate, Morgan and Will; his Brother John Robert Enright (Margaret); and many more nieces and nephews.
A Visitation at Lambert Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday September 29 from 4 - 7 pm, followed by the Rosary at 6 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clare Church in Roseville, CA on Thursday September 30 at 10 am, followed by a Burial Service with full Military Honors at Sacramento National Cemetery in Dixon, CA at 1:30 pm.
