William Fellers

1933 - 2025

William Fellers, 94, of Carmichael, California, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3rd.

Born to H. Cecil Fellers and Jessie Mae (Hammack) Fellers, Bill lived a full and accomplished life marked by service, education, music, and devotion to family and community.

He retired from the U.S. Naval Reserves as a Lieutenant Commander and went on to dedicate more than 40 years to teaching mathematics and engineering at American River College, where he inspired countless students. A lifelong learner himself, Bill earned master's degrees in chemical and materials engineering, as well as a doctorate in materials engineering.

Outside the classroom, Bill was a dedicated member of the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael and shared his love of music by playing trumpet, double-belled euphonium, and banjo in several local bands. He also had a passion for collecting, with wide-ranging collections that included cameras and musical instruments, each reflecting his curiosity and appreciation for craftsmanship.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Fellers; daughter Carol (Fellers) Wilson; and son Ronald Fellers. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date at First Christian Church of Sacramento. He will be laid to rest beside his parents at East Lawn Cemetery on Greenback Lane. No graveside service is planned.

Bill will be remembered for his sharp mind, kind heart, devotion to service, and the music and collections he shared so generously.
