Vacaville, California - William "Bill" Pierson passed away on August 5, 2021 at the age of 66, in Vacaville, Ca. His 26-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Bill came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
He was born to Bob and Hildred Pierson on November 5, 1954. Bill attended Holy Spirit School and Christian Brothers High School. Bill met the love of his life Helen, while in High School. After high school, Bill attended the University of San Francisco and Sacramento State. Bill loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals he learned from his mother-in-law Giannina Manfredi. Bill was a lifelong LA Dodgers, Sacramento Kings and San Francisco 49ers Fan. You could always count on Bill to have a remote in hand, sports on TV and shows recorded on DVR.
Bill worked for Glaser Bros, which became Core-Mark International for 29 years, where he retired as Operations Manager. Bill was honored as National Operations Manager of the Year in 1993. Bill always wanted to help people and through the years gave to several non-profits and community programs in both Sacramento and Solano Counites. Bill and Helen were honored as Christian Brothers Ambassadors of the Year, and family of the year by the Italian Catholic Federation. Bill was a loving, supportive husband, father and nonno who loved to travel and spend time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years Helen; brothers, Kenny (Sharon), Bobby (Sharon), Richard (Robin) and Timmy; brother and sisters in law, Alda (John), Marisa (Massimo) and Rudy (Marilyn); 2 daughters, one son and their spouses, Cynthia and Kevin McBride, Sandra and Ryan Whaley, James and Angeline Pierson; and 9 grandchildren, Austin, Kaydence, Mia, Kyle, Giannina, Mariana, Elena, Giancarlo and Mattea and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Hildred Pierson; and brothers, Patrick (Cassie), Tommy (Eleanor) and Jimmy.
A Rosary service is scheduled for 6:30pm, August 16, 2021, at Holy Spirit Parish Church, Sacramento, Ca. A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 11 am, August 17, 2021, at Holy Spirit Parish Church, Sacramento, Ca. In lieu of flowers, please consider a Donation to Christian Brothers High School in honor of Bill Pierson. Arrangements by W.F. Gormley & Sons, a guestbook can be found on their website.

Bill, it has been awhile since we had an opportunity to say hello and wish each other well. I know now that you are good and are at peace. Thank you for the memories of our time together at CB. You are the comsumate CB alumni; strong willed, compassionate to those less fortunate and competitive in the best sense of the word. You set a good example for everyone in your daily life. May you RIP and I hope to see you again on the other side someday. Keep grabbing those rebounds when you can . . . May God be with you and thank you for the memories. RJG

Dear Helen, Jimmy, Sandy and Cindy. My sincere condolences to you all. I first met Bill at CB when I was a sophomore and he was freshman. Even though we were in different grades we became friends. And we rekindled that friendship watching our boys playing Basketball at CB and I fondly remember talking with bill about how great it was to watch our sons win at Arco arena. It was an honor to know him and I will truly miss him.

Dear Helen, Jimmy, Cindy, Sandy and family, I was heartbroken to hear the news about Bill. He was my favorite coach at Saint Francis High School!!! He led us to Victory in the Championships every year!!! I was so honored to get to work with him on transforming your backyard...always being treated like part of the family. My heart breaks for the Pierson clan; but I know that Bill is at peace. He was definitely one of the good guys. So many fun memories at ICF meetings and events, and just popping in to use the facilities when I was running in your hood!

You were my basketball coach at Holy Spirit school. Then my boss later in life. Even though the job could be stressful at times we managed to laugh and have fun. I also had escargot the one and only time at your encouragement. Memories that I still look back on and laugh out loud

Prayers being said for Billy, Helen and all the Pierson family who brought me great joy during my years in Sacramento. I remember Billy giving me a Dodger cap to put on before I walked in the hospital to say goodbye to his little brother, and my great friend, Jimmy during in his final hours. The one and ONLY time I've ever worn those colors. Bill is a CB football legend. God speed, Bill!

Helen and family: My prayers are with you and your family. We had many great times at work and going to see the Dodgers play. Billy was always full of laughter and enjoyment. Always enjoyed being around you two.
We are living in Montana now to be close to Lenette.
