Winton Williamson Obituary

Cameron Park, CA Winton H. Williamson died peacefully at Eskaton Lodge in Cameron Park, CA on March 27, 2016 at the age of 96. Winton is survived by his sister Beverly Evans of Manchester, NH, his son David Williamson (Carol) of Cameron Park, his daughter Maggie Crane (Paul) of Thousand Oaks, seven grandchildren, eight great grand-children, and two great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Marion Williamson; Pauline, his wife of 63 years; his son Ronald Williamson and his sisters Marjory Irving and Dorothy Gilmore. Winton was born in Manchester, NH on December 6, 1919 and attended schools in Manchester. He married Pauline L'Heureux, his high school sweetheart, on April 18, 1939. Winton served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Acontius. He was an electrician and worked for the City of Thousand Oaks Building and Safety Department as an Electrical Building Inspector and Occupancy Inspector until his retirement in 1987. His family and friends will always remember Winton as a kind, loving man who was steadfast and devoted to his family. Winton loved traveling. He completed his bucket-list wish of touring all 50 state capitol buildings with a visit to Juneau, Alaska in July 2015. Winton and Pauline also traveled to many other countries, including a memorable visit to the USSR in 1987. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 pm Saturday, May 21st at the Green Valley Mortuary, 3004 Alexandrite Drive, Rescue, CA. Following the service, there will be a gathering of friends and family at David and Carol Williamson's house in Cameron Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Winton's life.
