I just recently found out of the lost of our dear friend. I met Zoe through the Children's Receiving Home Guild. Every time I saw her at our luncheon she was always friendly and always gave a hug and a smile. I will miss her.
It was a honor knowing her. My condolence to the family.

Zoe was my mother's best friend for life. I was only a little girl when we lived in Carmichael but many of my fondest memories from those days revolve around Zoe and her family. I remember the countless afternoons we would spend visiting. It was mostly girl time. We women (I was maybe 8 but being raised as a good feminist) would sit around discussing the important issues of the day. On special occassions, Bonnie - who was then a beautiful teenager - would take me horsebackriding on her Morgan horse and sometimes we even collected fresh dove eggs. Next door (or at least that is how I remember it) lived my beloved 1st grade teacher, Zoe's sister, Mrs. Weinland. Then, of course, there was Haha and her mischievious monkey. It was simply a child's wonderland.
I send my heartfelt love to this wonderful family that embraced us and fill our lives with love and joy.

I never met Zoe but I do know Bonnie and I've met her sister Carol. Both of these women are amazing, so it only stands to think their mother was too. Embrace the good memories of the strong wonderful woman Zoe was.

Although I am not 'legally' wedded to the family, I have always loved Zoe as a grandmother. Her smiles and laughs fill my heart when I think of her. No one in the world can compare with you Zoe. I love you. I'll miss you.

It was such a joy and honor to know and spend time with Zoe. She and her husband, the Hon.Bill Morgan, graciously opened their home several times in the late 1970s and early 1980s for events given by the Sacramento Assoc. of Black Attorneys (now the WMBA). I will always remember how kind and supportive she was of me as a new attorney. I also recall how Zoe really loved blues and jazz. When she learned I was getting married and wanted to play the Etta James classic, she sweetly loaned me her prized Etta James CD featuring "At Last". Rest in peace sweet soul.

I was blessed to have had Zoe touch our lives - always caring, spirited, upbeat and loving. Zoe gave me the best gift ever, her daughter, Bonnie, as my very good friend, in whom Zoe continues to live on and on and on....

I think there is no better way to leave a mark in this world than to touch lives in a compassionate way. Zoe spent her life working to make positive changes for individuals and for society. She then did us all a favor by passing on the legacy of her warrior spirit to her daughters. How fortunate I will be to continue seeing her enthusiasm through her family.

Bonnie and Jim. We loved Zoe for she was a very wonderful person with much love to give. Bonnie, I see where you get your warm heart and loving personality. May she be at peace and I will keep all of you in my prayers. Love, Sharon (Ann)
