David McMurphy

1950 - 2014

David McMurphy passed away September 9, 2014 at his home in Shasta Lake City.
He was a truck driver for 35 years.

David is survived by his wife Patie McMurphy. They were married in November 1998 by his father Elmore McMurphy.

David leaves behind two daughters and a son: Shannon Boler (and husband Tim Boler and their children Ethan Simmons, Shelly Simmons, Jackson Simmons and Branson Boler), Julie Tachenko (and husband Bryan Tachenko and their children Kyle and Caleb Tachenko), and Sean McMurphy (and fiance Autumn Carr and their child Astarra McMurphy). David also leaves behind three step-children: Stefanie Schulte (and fiance Tim McDowell and their son Mason McDowell), Lisa Schulte and Randy Schulte.

In addition David leaves behind his sister Jeannine Kuntz (and husband Chet Kuntz and their children Donya and Derrick) and brother Roy Oliver (and wife Claudine Oliver).

David wished to be cremated with no service.

To my Dad. You were an amazing person all around. I wish I could have told you how amazing you really were. I am so grateful I got the chance to know you. I will forever be thankful to Grandpa Mac who helped make our reunion possible. I got to know the person in you that mattered. David was a blessing in everyone lives. He knew how to make us laugh so hard that it hurt. He never focused on the negative things in life but encouraged others to see the positive and to forgive, accept things and move forward. I am lucky to have had him in my life, though it was for a short time. He will be deeply missed. No more pain, Dad. You are free! I miss you and love you forever! Kisses! Your scooter will always carry you in her heart. Xo!
