Glen Goergen Obituary
He was born on May 20, 1930, in Buffalo, N.Y., son of Berenice (Dickerman) and Ellsworth Goergen. Glen served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He received his educational degrees from Cortland State Teacher's College and the University of Buffalo. His career in education started in Corning, N.Y., as a physical education teacher. He then went on to Salamanca, N.Y., where he was a combination principal/sixth grade teacher. He became the principal of Seneca Elementary School when it was first built and remained in Salamanca for 31 years until his retirement.
Summers were spent boating and water skiing on the Alleghany River. In winter, he enjoyed downhill skiing, which he continued well into his mid-80s.
He and his wife, Debby, moved to Tennessee 22 years ago. He made some wonderful friendships there. Christ Lutheran Church held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his wife, Debby (117 Hamlet Drive, Fairfield Glade, TN 38558), and his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Tod Foy (5715 Place Lake Drive, Ft. Pierce, FL 34951).
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to habitat of Humanity, Crossville, Tenn., or Christ Lutheran Church Columbarium Fund.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church, 481 Snead Drive, Fairfield Glade.

debbie, we are so sorry to hear of Glen´s passing. He was a great influence on my educational career and was certainly my favorite administrator. Seneca School was a great place to work and learn for both students and teachers because of Glen. He will truly be missed.
