Mark Jonathan Obituary

SALAMANCA - Mark Jonathan, 74, of Salamanca, entered into rest on Friday (Sept. 26, 2025).

He was a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, Wolf Clan.

Born Oct. 20, 1950, in Gowanda, Mark was the son of the late Alvis and Doris Thompson.

Surviving are daughters Debbie Abrams (Greg) of Louisburg, N.C., and Lisa George (Allie) of Salamanca; grandchildren Ashley Abrams, Marcus Abrams, Andee Albertson, Keelan Seneca, Aiden George and Jamison George; great-grandchildren Arianna and Colson; siblings Bonnie Thompson, Sue Thompson and Bob Thompson, Stan Jonathan, Keith Jonathan, Dar Jonathan-Styres and Loralee Jonathan, along with several nieces and nephews. He is the beloved of Carla Niastor of Salamanca.

Traditional Seneca wake services began Monday (Sept. 29, 2025) at Newtown Longhouse on the Cattaraugus Territory, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 1, 2025).

The family respectfully declines floral arrangements. Arrangements by Wentland Funeral Home, North Collins.
